This is a beautiful airy cotton dress with enormous full skirt great for dancing and spinning. The hidden triangle darts expertly keep the dress straight and not dramatic when worn but when flared or spinning, it gives the bottom of the dress an impressive full dramatic very wide, full-circle skirt.
The dress combines a fitted upper bodice with a flowing lower half to create its distinct romantic silhouette. The top features short elasticated puff sleeves that can be worn up or at the shoulder, that mirror the romantic volume of the skirt, balanced by a wide, elastic-smocked waistband that keeps the torso fitted, and a gathered scoop neckline with a small tie closure at the center. Moving downward, triangles of extra fabric known as godet panel insets are stitched into the lower half of the gradually widening A-line silhouette, which is tightly gathered right below the smocked waist to inject instant volume that blossoms outward. The lightweight organic cotton fabric ensures a fluid drape, keeping the extra material airy and billowy rather than heavy or stiff as the skirt flares out into a wide, dramatic sweep. This is handmade with no tags but looks like a Dôen Quinn dress with a fuller skirt.
